Why not?

Why should gay marriage be illegal?
Is marriage a religious right or a legal right?
If it is purely a religious right then shouldn't we stop people who don't believe in god from getting married? What about all the people who don't get married by a preacher, are they really married?
If marriage is purely a legal right then why not? Shouldn't all people have the right to get married? We all should have protection under the law and if it is legal for one group of people shouldn't it be legal for everyone?
I don't get why we are even having this problem. I am a Christian but I believe that we all should have the same rights.
I'm sure the insurance lobbies have a big hand in keeping gay marriage illegal. It would cost insurance companies a lot of money to cover the spouses of gay covered people.
I personally think that lobbying should be stopped period!
The only people government should answer to is everyday people, the voters!
